Good addition to smoothies & coffee

I have tried this 2 different ways.. I added it to fruit & veggie smoothies, and also to coffee. I like both. The serving size says 1/4 a cup which seems like a lot. I haven’t measured it, I just put a few tablespoons in.It states it’s not for weight loss because it’s not a low calorie food, but 120 calories for 1/4 cup with 20 grams of protein seems about standard with other “meal replacement” shakes. I like the flavor. It gives smoothies a nice creamy texture without having to add yogurt or milk. For coffee, when I’m in a rush & don’t have time to eat, I’ll add this to hold me over until lunch. Gives it a nice creamy vanilla flavor. Much better than adding creamers. We don’t keep sugar in the house & use monk fruit regularly so I’m used to the taste. As far as muscle recovery, at 42, anything that assists my muscles is worth a try for me.Overall I recommend, but use it lightly.

Pretty good protein powder!

It's a pretty good protein powder! I do not have another vanilla flavored powder to compare it to, but I felt it has a very strong vanilla taste to it. When I mixed it with a chocolate milkshake, it almost gave the milkshake too much of a vanilla taste and I had a hard time finishing it. However, this could be how most vanilla protein powders are and I just don't have experience with it. When I mixed in it with an overnight oats bowl, the flavor wasn't as strong to me, thankfully. I didn't notice a weird texture and it seemed to mix fairly well. The bag it comes in zips really nicely!

Good all-around protein powder

This was a great protein powder. The taste was decadent. It was sweet and full of vanilla flavor. I don't like monk fruit as much in all situations, but I thought that it worked well with the vanilla in this situation. The powder dissolved easily and had a smooth finish. It was not gritty or hard to mix. While it worked nicely to use it to make protein shakes, I used it in other recipes as well. It was good in oatmeal and mixed with fruit. This was a versatile protein powder that could be used anywhere a touch of vanilla would be appreciated. It was decent in terms of nutrition. It had a lot of protein, a good amount of iron and fiber, and no added sugar. It was not low in sodium, but it was on par with a lot of other protein powders. I really liked using it on days when I needed to get some protein in but also wanted something that tasted like a treat. I found myself using it after work sometimes when I was hungry for something sweet and I wanted something that had some nutritional benefits. There was no plastic scoop included with the protein powder, which worked out fine since a serving size was clearly labeled as 1/4 cup. It was easy enough to use a measuring utensil I already had to measure out the desired amount. I actually like this method more than having a serving spoon included with the product. For one thing, it is more environmentally friendly. For another, it makes it easier to use half a serving of protein powder without having to guess at the amount by eyeballing half a scoop.

Clean ingredients

Khyv Protein Powder has clean ingredients, is vegan/plant-based, and sugar free. I've been drinking it with cold water and have no problems stirring it into a smooth, non-chunky consistency with a spoon. (Drinking this made me realize my son walked off with all my blender bottles when he moved...)You can definitely tell that the drink is zero sugar as it has no sweetness to it at all. I wouldn't say it tastes very much like vanilla, and I'm not sure I feel any different after using it for a couple of weeks. Even the protein doesn't seem to hold me over until my next meal or protein snack. While I feel like this drink isn't for me, I appreciate the ingredients and that the package is scoop free.

Scoop Not Included

This is a plant-based protein. 20g of protein in every serving. It does not come with a scoop. It says right on the packaging: "No Scoop. No Problem. Yep, we ditched the plastic scoop because you don't need it, and neither does the planet." You just need a 1/4 cup measuring cup, and more than likely, you already have that in your kitchen. Just mix a quarter cup of protein powder with 10 to 12 oz. of water or milk. Easy enough!I tried the protein powder mixed with water first. Then, I tried it mixed with milk. It was okay with water, better with milk, but I still wasn't loving it - it's also a little "gritty." I even tried freezing the milk mixture for a frozen treat, like ice cream or a milkshake. I didn't notice the grittiness as much when it was frozen. It, also, seemed to have an aftertaste that I couldn't quite put my finger on - mocha, maybe? I would have to say that, for me, the taste was okay or good, but not great. It didn't make me want more, but it wasn't horrible. I think this one is going to come down to personal preference for taste. It does smell like vanilla, and it has a vanilla taste, but then, there's the aftertaste.

Great option low sugar option for plant-based protein without a lot of filler

I started my protein shake journey with chocolate based Orgain plant protein and loved it. I eventually found my way to whey animal-based protein given the pricing, greater lower sugar content options, and slightly more protein per serving. Fast forward to today, and this came up as an alternative to give me a plant-based protein that aims to make the sugar content option lower while using on good sugar substitute in Monk Fruit! I've included a picture of what it looks like in the bag, but the Product Detail Page gives you everything you need. Key highlights:What do you get:Pretty straight forward given the product picture. You get very fine-grained vanilla flavored protein powder. It doesn't come w/ a scooper, which was listed explicitly for reducing plastic use, so you'll have to use your own to get the 1/4 cup serving size. The package uses a Velcro style sealer to make it easier to close up to maintain freshness.Experience using the productGiven that the protein powder is fine-grained, it allows the product to mix in well with water or milk and avoid the gritty taste. The downside of the powder being so fine-grained is that it easily gets into the air. When you're scooping and dropping it into your mixer, it'll puff into the air. If you try to close the bag and squeeze out the air, you're going to get the powder to puff out as well. Not great, but not a deal breaker. The proteinFolks I've seen usually talk about trying to get the most protein from product and minimizing filler to get the best value, with the math being (grams of Protein / grams in a serving). The target goal would be 75% ratio, while this product is at 58% ratio so on the lower scale. However, this may be specific to animal-based protein powder, so compare it to Orgain which is at 45%, and you have a product that soundly beats one of the lading brands!TasteIt's vanilla flavored, but you can tell it's a bit artificial given the sugar substitute used to keep the sugar contents low. With that being said, I still found it quite pleasant. Definitely happy to drink it to every last drop. I'd score this pretty high for vanilla flavor-based protein drinks so big kudos for the flavor experience to Kyhv!Overall thoughts:Who's this for?- Someone who wants great flavor while keeping the sugar/carbs content low and prioritizes not using sugar substitutes like maltitol, sucralose, or erythritol, but instead monk fruit.- If you're lactose intolerant.- Willing to pay a premium for getting away from animal-based products.Who's this not for?- If you're prioritizing best bang for the buck protein and are okay with animal-based products.Update: After some time, the powder puffing up when you're closing the bag or dumping the powder into the mixer has gotten old. Sometimes I feel like I'm breathing in part of the protein rather than drinking it in and I'm having to clean the countertop of fallen protein powder after every time. Dropping it down 1 star as there has to be an improvement on this somehow.

Excellent texture, good stats, but overly sweet

Kyhv Nutrition Recovery Plant Based Protein Powder comes in a zipper bag. No scoop is provided. A serving is 1/4cup/ 34g, which is quite a lot of powder. Each bag is 23 servings or so.This is a vegan, non-soy protein powder. The ingredients list is simple - Pea Protein, Tapioca Fiber, Natural Flavors, Sea Salt, Monk Fruit Extract, Cellulose Gum, Vanilla Powder. Pea protein is nice as it is /close to a complete protein (sometimes cited low in methionine). I like that it is Monk Fruit instead of Stevia, which tastes like chemicals to me. The calorie count to protein ratio is pretty good for vegan protein.I primarily use whey, and dabble in other proteins to see if they are drinkable. I got both Kyhv's Vanilla and Chocolate Flavor. Vanilla is great for being able to mix with things to keep things more interesting. I followed the directions on the bag - 34g with 10oz of water.Kyhv Nutrition Recovery Plant Based Protein mixes very well. I used a shaker bottle and it combined quickly. No lumps. The texture isn't silky smooth, but has a slight fine powder feeling if I'm looking for it. Mindlessly drinking I notice no texture. The Vanilla is VERY sweet. I have a sweet tooth, but this is way too much. Kyhv Nutrition Recovery Plant Based Protein Vanilla is best as a smoothie mixed with frozen fruit and veg. On its own, I can't chug it, but at least I don't taste any bitter weird pea flavor. If I had to choose between Kyhv's Vanilla or Chocolate, I'd still get the Vanilla as you can do more with it and it has slightly less calories. The Chocolate flavor is kinda watery.

Very tasty

Generally, I assume a vanilla flavor is going to maybe be a little bit bland or possibly not have a lot of flavor and not cover up whatever the protein flavor is. That couldn't be less true for this particular protein powder, in my opinion. This, for me, has a wonderful vanilla flavor. And it's nice and sweet but it's not overly sweet. The vanilla doesn't taste synthetic and the sweetness does not have a bad aftertaste. This is definitely a few steps up in quality than what I'm used to when it comes to protein powder. It's not the creamiest that I've ever had but for something that is plant-based, it is more creamy than expected. It's not gritty at all. The price is quite a bit and keep in mind that the serving size is a fourth of a cup. But overall, I think that this is definitely a good value if you're looking for a product that is higher quality and is plant-based.

Plant based

This was my first time trying a plant-based protein powder, as I’ve only used whey protein before. The texture mixed well, but the vanilla flavor tasted a bit artificial to me and left a mild aftertaste. I also noticed some stomach discomfort afterward — though I’m not completely sure it was from the shake. I appreciate the clean ingredients and concept, but the flavor just wasn’t the best fit for me personally.

A little gritty/gummy; monk fruit a bit off putting, better with more water

Kyhv Recovery Plant Based Protein Powder, Vanilla Flavor, 28 oz (ASIN : B0FKB6DLFM) With my first try, I wanted it as cold as possible - I like most of my drink very cold, especially protein shakes. They just go down better. I mixed it with ~12 oz water; shook it up and refrigerate it. It separated over night, and doesn't look appetizing, but was fine when I shook it up again. It tastes ok, a tiny bit gritty from the pea protein. The monk fruit has this floral aspect which reminds me of coconut oil - a taste I really don't enjoy. This is my first time trying anything with monk fruit. I thought it was a little too sweet, so I'm glad I used a little more water with it, than the suggested 10 oz minimum.I was hoping to use it as an additive to my morning oatmeal, for a little protein boost. I like my Quaker instant oatmeal, but they don't make too many flavors in the protein version. I added 1/8 cup of the protein powder, then microwaves per the oatmeal instructions. In my apple cinnamon, I could tell it was in there, because the powder added quite a bit of thickness to the texture. It's not terrible, just different. The oatmeal only take 6 ounces of water, so I think this is the proper amount of powder. I just need to play with adding a bit more water, so the whole thing doesn't feel like wallpaper paste.

A plant based protein powder, could do better with flavoring

I would rate this protien powder as 7.5/10. The ingredients and the quality of this product is great, just the flavor is a bit off. This is a sugar free protein powder so its great for losing weight and has helped me keep up with my protein intake with gym. Not much to say about this, it does not clump, and offers a good price point.

Mixes great

This protein powder works well. It's silky and smooth and easy to mix. It mixes well with hot or cold liquids. You don't need a giant scoop to get the indictated amount of good, quality protein. It's doesn't have a bad taste at all or any after taste. I think it works great and it's one of the top 3 of protein powders out now. The ingredients are listed and healthy. It is expensive for the amount you get though.

Easy on the stomach and pretty smooth

I’ve been using this vanilla plant protein after workouts for a little over a week now. It mixes up fine in water or almond milk and doesn’t feel heavy, which I like. The vanilla flavor is really mild, not bad, just not super bold. I actually prefer it that way when I add fruit or blend it into a smoothie.I gave it 4 stars because the texture is just slightly grainy if you only use a shaker bottle. Nothing awful, just something to know if you’re picky. But overall, it feels clean, sits well with no bloat, and gives a nice boost after the gym. Definitely one of the better vegan proteins I’ve tried.

Not the best, but I wouldn't toss it out

I like the plant-based protein aspect but pea protein as an ingredient is such a hit or miss with me as it has an awkward taste sometimes, and in this instance with the Kyhv protein powder, it leans towards a miss. The texture is chalky and unfortunately that also contributed to weak blendability as it didn't mix well and the powder all sunk to the bottom of my bottle. I wasn't a fan of the taste, but I'm also generally not a fan of vanilla flavor, but it tastes very sweet. Despite that, it's not so bad that I would toss it out. I am going to keep drinking it but maybe I'll mix in some cocoa or matcha powder to help balance out the sweetness. The protein quality is alright for a vegan option.

Very pricey

I like that the Recovery Plant Based Protein Powder is a complete vegan protein with no sugar and only 120 calories. The vanilla flavor is decent. As with most flavored protein powders, it is very, very sweet. It does not include a plastic scoop. Rather you mix a quarter cup with your liquid of choice. It dissolves well and doesn't taste overly grainy. The only real complaint I have is the price point. $50 for a 28 ounce bag is definitely on the pricey side. There are plenty of less expensive options on the market today. I don't know that this vegan protein powder is worth the higher price tag. In terms of quality, taste, and macros, I would give this 4 or 5 stars. In terms of price, I would give it 3 stars.

An OK vegan protein at a higher asking price

At $50 for a 1.75 lb bag (23 servings at the time of purchase), it is on the pricier side compared to other vegan proteins I use. However, it does have a few things going for it.The powder mixes very well and produces a smooth, thinner consistency than many plant-based proteins, which can sometimes be overly thick or clumpy. The flavor is decent, though I found the smell a little off. At 120 calories with 20g of protein per serving, it’s a fairly lean option, and I like that it doesn’t have any added sugars. I also like that the ingredient list is short and simple, and it does not contain sucralose. That said, I still prefer other vegan proteins that cost less and come in larger tubs. For example, my go-to is around $35 for 31 servings with a slightly higher protein content and a thicker, creamier texture, which I personally prefer. One downside here is the packaging: the fine powder can make a bit of a mess when you first use the bag, and I wish a scoop had been included for convenience. I also wish the Amino Acid profile was provided on the packaging like you find with most other protein powders.Overall, this is a clean, well-mixing vegan protein with solid nutrition, but a variety of factors including the price and packaging keep it from becoming my new favorite.

Very sweet, but a good plant based option

If you’re looking for a shake mix with plant based protein, this might be a good option for you. It’s made from pea protein instead of whey and the ingredients are fairly clean. It is sweetened with monk fruit sugar and I struggled with how sweet it was. I know many people appreciate this, but for me a bit too sweet. The packaging was also a bit of a challenge and it always seemed to want to leak a bit of powder through the built-in seal on the bag. The mix is a very fine powder which mixes easily in water or milk, but it easily poofs some dust out whenever you pick up the bag.

It’s clean, simple, and gut-friendly

This powder delivers a solid 20g of pea protein per 34g serving—about ½ cup based on my kitchen scale. With 23 servings per bag, the value is pretty decent. I appreciate the minimal ingredient list and especially the use of monk fruit as a sweetener—my preferred choice for gut health. The formula blends smoothly into my shakes, and I consistently choose plant-based protein over whey for easier digestion. Just a heads-up: the package doesn’t include a scoop, so you’ll need to measure it yourself using a scale or estimate by volume.Flavor-wise, it’s pleasantly mild—not overly sweet—and works great in my daily smoothie. If you're curious, here’s my go-to recipe:30g protein powder10 oz water1 tbsp chia seeds¼ cup frozen blueberries1 tbsp peanut butter½ cup frozen spinach1 scoop creatine (5g)Blend it all up in a Nutribullet-style blender for a smooth, energizing shake. Overall, I’m happy with this product and would definitely repurchase.
